A charming mountain house

The chalet is located at the foot of Mont Sutton’s slopes, on an enchanting wooded site with mature trees, in a quiet dead-end street. Set on a 1,800 m² lot planted with trees, with no built neighbour behind — only forest and a small stream.

Enjoy the mountain through all four seasons. In winter, Mont Sutton’s countless snow-covered slopes welcome you for skiing, hiking and winter sports. In summer, relax in the shade of its 1,800 m² grounds and unwind on the pleasant deck.

The village of Sutton

The village sits on the Quebec side of the Canada-United States border. It has an immediate charm that many ski resorts claim but few truly deliver. European visitors find qualities often missing in the Alps — friendly residents, a relaxed atmosphere, quality French cuisine, and reasonable prices.

The landscape features some of Quebec’s most impressive mountains, part of the Appalachian range, with varied terrain. Regional characteristics include vineyards, mountain lakes, forests (70% deciduous unlike the conifer dominance elsewhere), fields and diverse traditional architecture reflecting cultural influences.

Sutton Natural Environment Park

The park offers 52 km of hiking and snowshoe trails with 4 summits, 4 lakes and magnificent views. A stream with pools, the municipal beach (25 min), Lac Brome (30 min) and the municipal pool (5 min) provide water-based activities.

History of Mont Sutton

The Mont Sutton ski resort opened on December 17, 1960, when the Boulanger family inaugurated the first mechanical ski lift. Harold Boulanger, his son Real and their friend Francois Levesque developed it as a winter alternative to their summer dairy farming. The family continues to own and manage it.

The village developed in the 18th century with British, American and Irish Loyalist residents, before French culture shaped it from the late 19th century onwards. Many residents essentially grew up on skis, with grandparents teaching grandchildren — a practice that, combined with Sutton being a community rather than a tourist resort, makes it a unique ski destination.
